Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated
Outwire is for agencies doing outreach the right way. This policy sets the rules for using it and the tools you connect.
1. Scope
This policy applies to everyone using Outwire, including invited team members and clients, and to everything done through Outwire or with tools connected to it. It is part of the Terms of Service.
2. Prohibited use
You must not use Outwire, or tools you connect to it, to:
- Send spam: unsolicited bulk email or messages, or messages to people who have opted out.
- Use purchased, rented, scraped or harvested lists where the law or the platform requires consent you do not have.
- Phish, impersonate a person or organisation, or collect credentials or payment details under false pretences.
- Send deceptive content: false or misleading sender details, subject lines, claims or offers.
- Send malware, or content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, or infringes someone else's rights.
- Get around a recipient's opt-out, a platform's limits or bans, or Outwire's hard stops and guardrails.
- Probe, overload or attack Outwire, access accounts or data that are not yours, or resell Outwire without our agreement.
3. Your outreach, your tools, your responsibility
Outwire does not send your outreach. Campaigns, sequences, LinkedIn activity and calls run in your own third-party tools, under your own accounts. You are responsible for that activity and for complying with every law and rule that applies to it, including:
- CAN-SPAM (United States): accurate headers and subject lines, a physical address, and a working opt-out honoured within 10 business days.
- GDPR and PECR (EU and UK): a lawful basis for processing, consent where required for electronic marketing, and respecting objections.
- CASL (Canada): express or implied consent, identification and an unsubscribe mechanism.
- Any other local law, and the terms and sending rules of each tool and platform you use (for example sending limits and LinkedIn's user agreement).
Outwire helps: unsubscribe and legal replies stop sequences for that person in every connected tool, and deliverability guardrails flag high bounce rates. These help you comply; they do not replace your own obligations.
4. Outwire's own email
Outwire's email infrastructure may only be used for the transactional emails listed in the Email Policy: account and sign-in emails, invites, notifications about your own account, reports and reminders to your own clients' contacts, and proposals a signed-in user sends to one named recipient. You must not use these features to send marketing, bulk or unsolicited email, or to email anyone who is not your user, your client contact, or a prospect you are personally sending a proposal to.
5. Enforcement
- We may investigate suspected breaches, including by reviewing activity and audit logs in your account.
- We may remove content, pause email or automations, or suspend or close an account that breaches this policy. Where the risk allows we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix it; for serious abuse such as phishing or spam we may act immediately.
- We may report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities or affected providers.
6. Reporting abuse
If you received unwanted email connected to Outwire, or believe someone is misusing it, email abuse@outwire.co with the message (including its headers if you can). We review every report.
